Indiana: Periodic closures on Port Road to SR 62 ramp Nov. 4, 2014

Oct. 31, 2014 – The Port Road to SR 62 ramp will be closed on Nov. 4, 2014 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., during three occurrences for up to twenty minutes each time. Motorists are asked to use caution when in the area.

Indiana: Access for westbound SR 265 ramp to westbound SR 62 shifted south Nov. 3, 2014

Oct. 31, 2014 – The access for the westbound SR 265 ramp to westbound SR 62, will be shifted south on November 3, 2014 from 3:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. Traffic will be stopped periodically during this time. Motorists are asked to use caution when in the area.

Indiana: Blasting schedule for week of November 3, 2014

Oct. 30, 2014 – Blasting is scheduled to occur near Upper River Road in Indiana November 3-8, 2014 around 3:30 p.m. each day.  Prior to the scheduled blast, traffic must be stopped for five to twenty minutes for the safety of the workers and the traveling public. Traffic will be stopped on Upper River Road.

Blasting will also occur between Port Road and Upper River Road. These blasts do NOT require traffic stops.

The dates and approximate times will be:

  • Monday, November 3: Several blasts in the morning (after 9 a.m.) and several blasts in the afternoon (before 7 p.m.)
  • Tuesday, November 4: Several blasts in the morning (after 9 a.m.) and several blasts in the afternoon (before 7 p.m.)
  • Wednesday, November 5: Several blasts in the morning (after 9 a.m.) and several blasts in the afternoon (before 7 p.m.)
  • Thursday, November 6: Several blasts in the morning (after 9 a.m.) and several blasts in the afternoon (before 7 p.m.)
  • Friday, November 7: Several blasts in the morning (after 9 a.m.) and several blasts in the afternoon (before 7 p.m.)
  • Saturday, November 8: Several blasts in the morning (after 9 a.m.) and several blasts in the afternoon (before 4 p.m.)

Kentucky: Blasting schedule for week of November 3, 2014

Oct. 24, 2014 – Blasting to prepare for the new tunnel in the east end of Louisville is scheduled to occur during the week of November 3, 2014.

Surface blasting is scheduled to occur near the intersection of U.S. 42 and KY 841. Prior to each blast, traffic must be stopped for five to twenty minutes for the safety of the workers and the traveling public. Traffic will be stopped on KY 841 between Wolf Pen Branch Road and U.S. 42, and on U.S. 42 between Wolf Pen Branch Road and Bridgepointe Boulevard.

The dates and approximate times for surface blasting at this location (within 15 minutes) will be:

  • Monday, November 3, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, November 4, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, November 5, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 6, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
  • Friday, November 7, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 8, at about 9:30 a.m. and again at about 11:30 a.m.

Prior to each blast, traffic must be stopped for five to twenty minutes for the safety of the workers and the traveling public. Traffic will be stopped on Springdale Road at the Green Spring Drive intersection, and on Wolf Pen Branch Road from Wolf Pen Woods Drive to Green Spring Drive.

The dates and approximate times for surface blasting at this location (within 15 minutes) will be:

  • Monday, November 3, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, November 4, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, November 5, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 6, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
  • Friday, November 7, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 8, at about 9:30 a.m. and again at about 11:30 a.m.

Tunnel Blasting: No tunnel blasting is scheduled to occur for the next several weeks. During this period, crews will be installing additional structural supports for the tunnel. Prior to resuming tunnel blasting, a schedule will be posted on the project website at www.kyinbridges.com.

Indiana: Lane restrictions on SR 62 November 3-7, 2014

Oct. 30, 2014 – There will be lane restrictions on SR 62 in Indiana in the vicinity of the SR 265 and SR 62 interchange November 3-7, 2014 from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. each day. The lane restrictions will be in place for about a half mile in each direction of the interchange. Motorists are asked to use caution and drive slowly when driving in the area during this time.

Kentucky: River Road closed Oct. 31 – November 2, 2014

Oct. 24, 2014 – River Road will be closed in the vicinity of Wolf Pen Branch Road and Timber Ridge Road October 31 – November 2, 2014. A detour will be set up for motorists who need to drive along this roadway.

Construction is taking place on existing highways; however, two lanes of interstate traffic, going both ways, will always be open. Some ramps may be blocked for short or extended periods of time. When possible, this website will give at least 30 days of advance notice for traffic control activities.
